Marie Joan Kristine Gloria, Ph.D Student

Kristine is a Ph.D. student working in the Tetherless World Constellation where she hopes to continue her research at the intersection of technology, information and policy. Her past research includes: online political discourse and civic engagement; human rights; information, communication, technologies and IP/copyright online. Her current research focuses on online privacy, decision-making behaviors and consumer rights online. She also serves as a researcher for a non-profit advocacy group, Startup Policy Lab, which lobbies on behalf of the startup community in Washington, D.C. She also held a position as a Media Policy Researcher for the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C. in 2010. She received her Bachelor’s in Journalism and her Master’s in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
Stéphane B. Bazan

Stéphane is Head of Consulting, Education and Research at Keeward, an international digital company. He’s also Head of the Web Science Interdisciplinary Unit at Saint-Joseph University of Beirut’s CEMAM. He’s been involved in Web Science research since 2010 and his past research includes: Information Warfare on the Web in the Middle East, the Web in the Arab World and Web Science Education. He started the first Web Science and Digital Economy Master program at USJ’s Faculty of economics in 2012. Stéphane organized various workshops at the Web Science Conferences, including the Education Workshop series and the first workshop on Cyberwar / Cybercrime.
